Peppermint is a cross-breeding between aquatic mint and spearmint. It stands out for its high menthol content, for this reason it’s one of the most used officinal plants. It has antiseptic, anesthetic and depurative properties and it’s very used for cosmetics. Rich in vitamin C, flavonoids, phenolic acid and tannins, it’s very used in cooking used in cooking. You can grow Pepper mint all year round with your smart garden but we recommend harvesting after 5 weeks and until 12 weeks. The ideal temperature for growing is between 18 and 30°C.
Uses
You can use Peppermint in many different ways, using fresh or dried leaves or the essential oil. Leaves can be used in cooking for seasoning meat or creating sauce (like the famous English Mint Sauce), for preparing vegetable or fruit salads, or for flavoring ice-cream and dessert. They can be used also for cocktails or digestive infusion. They are useful against bad smell, against insects or like a refreshing mouthwash. The essential oil is used for toning massage.
