Red mustard is a member of Brassicaceae plant family. It has red-purple leaves and a central green vein.
The taste is similar to horseradish but the young leaves are more delicate.
It’s a superfood. In fact it’s rich in fibers, vitamins A, C and K, mineral salts, and antioxidants such as polyphenols.
You are unlikely to find red mustard in the supermarket, but you can grow it all year round with your smart garden. We recommend harvesting after 30 days from germination.
The ideal temperature for growing is between 18 and 25°C.
Uses
You can use mustard in different ways. The young leaves can be added to a salad to make it spicy, while the more mature ones can be cooked and fried
