Pak choi is a vegetable that comes from China, but is also becoming popular in Europe.
It has oval green leaves, similar to Italian beetroot. It has a delicate, herby taste with a bitter flavour. It’s rich in vitamins A, C and K, mineral salts and polyphenols and for this reason it’s one of the Top 10 Healthiest Vegetables.
It loves cold climates, but you can grow it all year round with your smart garden. We recommend harvesting after 30 days from germination.
The ideal temperature for growing is between 18 and 22°C.
Uses
You can use Pak Choi in different ways. You can use it in salad, or cooked with chili peppers and garlic as a side dish to accompany meat. In the Asiatic cuisine it’s used in soups, as well as in Japanese ramen and in noodle soup. In the Vietnamese cuisine it’s combined with boiled green beans, coriander, coconut oil and soy sauce.
